A few months ago, the design manager at the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitor's Bureau approached The Cartridge Family regarding their song ''Raleigh.'' The song is being used as the background of their new year's message which they send to their local partners. We are very excited to be a part of this wonderful snapshot of our city!.

Shine Like A Bottle (Doublenaught)

No. 2 for the Cartridge Family is a step up from 2005’s Here Come the Rock Stars, which was damn good itself. Better written songs are the difference on Shine Like a Bottle and it’s a team effort. Keyboardist Greg Rice and guitarist Joe Rechel contribute the two best in the Replacements-stamped “Alone, I’m a Loser” and the disc-ending “American West,” which while repeating “There’s a hole in the soul of rock-and-roll” does what it can to repair it. Bassist Steve Gardner’s two low-key efforts, especially “Just for You,” are nicely soulful and well-done. Other highlights include the sing-along title song and the twangy and groovin’ “Do You Remember?”
